Bivol demolished Zinad and retained his WBA crown

Over the weekend in Riyadh, Dmitry Bivol showcased his most destructive performance yet as he defeated Malik Zinad in six rounds to successfully defend his WBA Super Light Heavyweight Championship. The event, hosted as part of the Riyadh Season, was a huge success.

As part of a thrilling 5v5 event, the Russian fighter left no stone unturned in his quest to defeat the Libyan challenger. Bivol’s aggressive approach from the start, with a mix of head and body shots, showed his determination to end the fight early.

In the very first round, Bivol managed to knock down Zinad, setting the tone for the rest of the fight. In the sixth round, a combination of punches from Bivol forced the referee to stop the bout due to Zinad’s deteriorating physical condition.

The Riyadh Season continues to deliver exciting events, with this Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions showdown being a prime example. Organized by Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and Royal Advisor to the Saudi Arabian Court, the event was filled with great fights and entertainment.

Following his victory, it was revealed that Bivol’s next challenge will be against Artur Beterbiev on October 12, as part of the Riyadh Season. Bivol’s record now stands at 23 wins, no losses, and 12 knockouts, while Zinad leaves with 22 wins and 1 loss.
