Blair Cobbs Scores Unanimous Decision Victory Over Adrien Broner

Blair “The Flair” Cobbs outshone Adrien Broner both in trash-talking leading up to the fight and in the actual boxing match on June 7th, when he secured a unanimous decision victory over the former four-division champion.

The fight, promoted by Don King, took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and it was Cobbs’ night as he displayed excellent focus and sharpness in the ring. On the other hand, Broner seemed off-timed and lacked the conditioning needed for the bout.

In the opening round, Cobbs showcased his skills with lateral movement and a precise southpaw jab. He even managed to knock Broner down with a straight left hand in the second round. Although Broner tried to fight back, Cobbs continued to dominate with a flurry of punches to the body and head.

As the fight progressed, Broner struggled to find his rhythm, while Cobbs remained in control with his varied offensive tactics. Despite Broner showing glimpses of sharp punching towards the end, Cobbs’ higher workrate ultimately sealed his victory.

In the final round, Broner landed some significant shots, but it was not enough to sway the judges in his favor. Cobbs emerged victorious with scores of 97-91, 96-93, 96-93, improving his record to 17-1-1.

While Cobbs’ win was decisive, it may not significantly impact his standing in the welterweight division. As for Broner, he faces a crucial decision on whether to continue fighting or consider retirement, given his recent struggles to let his hands go in the ring.
