Espinoza signs with Top Rank ahead of June 21 title defense

Top Rank missed an opportunity to capture three of the four featherweight belts with the defeat of Robeisy Ramirez and Otabek Kholmatov. However, their commitment to the division remains strong as they have recently signed a “multi-fight co-promotional agreement” with WBO champion Rafael Espinoza alongside Zanfer.

Espinoza, with an impressive record of 24-0 and 20 knockouts, shocked the boxing world by defeating Ramirez in a thrilling fight last year. He is now gearing up for his first title defense against Sergio Chirino Sanchez, who also hails from Mexico and holds a record of 22-1 with 13 knockouts. This signing not only sets the stage for a potential rematch with Ramirez but also opens up exciting possibilities such as a unification bout with IBF champion Luis Alberto Lopez or a showdown with rising star Bruce Carrington.

Before looking ahead to these potential matchups, Espinoza must first focus on his upcoming fight against Sanchez. Nevertheless, the future looks bright for the featherweight division with Espinoza’s promising talent on display.
