Makhmudov vs Vianello joins Mbilli vs Derevyanchenko

Christian Mbilli isn’t the only fighter on the fast track for Top Rank’s upcoming show in Quebec on August 17th. Heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov, who recently fought alongside “Solide,” will face Guido Vianello in the co-main event.

Makhmudov (19-1, 18 KO) has been on a roll with a string of quick knockouts and a tough win over Carlos Takam. However, he faced a setback against Agit Kabayel due to a relentless body attack. Despite rebounding with a win over Miljan Rovcanin, questions remain about his progress, but his loss to Kabayel has aged well over time.

Vianello (12-2-1, 10 KO), despite his Olympic background, has struggled to find success in the professional ranks. After a draw with Kingsley Ibeh and a cut stoppage loss to Jonathan Rice, his latest fight saw him narrowly lose on points to Efe Ajagba after coming close to stopping him early on.

This is a compelling matchup between two fighters in need of a significant victory. It promises to be an enjoyable contest for as long as it lasts.

“Makhmudov expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, “Vianello is a tough opponent, but I believe in my skills and aim to show that I am a top contender. This fight is a crucial step towards my goal of proving myself as the better fighter.”

Vianello also shared his enthusiasm for the challenge, saying, “I am prepared to face the top heavyweights in the world. This fight with Arslanbek is a crucial moment in my career, and I am looking forward to delivering an exciting performance on August 17 in Quebec City.”

In addition to this main event, Top Rank regulars Jahi Tucker (11-1-1, 5 KO) and Abdullah Mason (13-0, 11 KO) will feature on the undercard, along with super middleweight prospect Osleys Iglesias, who is making waves as a Knockout of the Year contender.
