Bivol Expected to Return to Conservative Style Against Beterbiev

Dmitry Bivol is set to go back to his defensive, careful fighting style when he squares off against Artur Beterbiev in their upcoming light heavyweight championship bout on October 12th in Riyadh.

It is believed that Bivol, the WBA 175-lb champion, only adopted a more aggressive approach in his last fight against Malik Zinad because Zinad was not considered a top-tier opponent. Bivol will need to steer clear of exchanging heavy blows with Beterbiev, who is known for his powerful punches.

There are concerns about Beterbiev’s readiness for the fight, as he is recovering from a ruptured meniscus. If he is not fully healed, the bout may be delayed once again.

Boxing expert Paulie Malignaggi predicts that Bivol will revert to his usual in-and-out style of fighting, similar to his performances against top opponents like Canelo Alvarez, Gilberto Ramirez, and Sullivan Barrera. This cautious approach was effective in those fights.

As Bivol prepares to face Beterbiev, it is evident that his strategic bag of tricks sets him apart in the ring. His ability to adjust and outsmart opponents, combined with his deep repertoire of skills, make him a formidable and dangerous fighter.
