‘Patience was the key’: Zhang discusses knockout win over Wilder

Zhilei Zhang recently spoke to Fight Hub TV following his impressive victory over Deontay Wilder, sharing his thoughts on the fight and how he was able to outsmart the former heavyweight champion.

In response to his win, Zhang expressed his satisfaction, giving credit to his team and acknowledging Wilder’s power. He admitted feeling the impact of Wilder’s punches but remained composed and focused throughout the fight, crediting his patience as the key to his success.

Zhang revealed his strategy of using feints to set up Wilder for the knockout, believing he had trapped his opponent into falling for his tactics.

Addressing Wilder’s belief that the fight shouldn’t have been stopped, Zhang explained that despite Wilder getting up after the eight count, he was not mentally present to continue, and it was the right decision for the referee to end the fight.

Looking ahead, Zhang mentioned potential rematches with Joe Parker and the possibility of facing Anthony Joshua, highlighting the numerous opportunities available to him following his victory over Wilder.
